I went to "The Mystical Magical Haven of Master Intuitive Masseuse/Healer Donna Caire to get my booty rub. But as always she manages to rub me into a better more peaceful, more centered, more serene place. Her lovely abode is hidden in the woods of Abita situated on the banks of the Abita River. I wander down the pebble path thru the verdent gardens of vitex, mint, rosemary, turk's cap, clematis, camillias, lipstick vines and many many more healing flowers and plants ....past the deep concrete artesian pool filling from a marble woman sculpture of Alexei Kantansev flowing the water thru her into the cold pool. This is the closest thing I can get to silent spiritual retreat in the woods here in South Louisiana, and its a good one. Large circle windows look out towards the deep, large pool on one side and towards the trees and the river on the other. Eyebrow windows at the top of the walls add a wonder-filled light to the cork floored room. Dark round stones caress your feet on the floor of the shower room which is open with large windows to the trees. You just feel you are naked in the woods with you and your spirit.
It was raining hard as we began. Many inner levels explored and released. Health breathed in and rubbed into my body." R.H., August, 2010
"Your house, studio, yard and swimming pool offer the astounding balance of space, color, light, art and restful energy. Thank you for including me on your herb walk. Both you and Darrell have an Extraordinary way of teaching. Being with your guests makes me feel like our world is moving in the right direction. Shine on..." Ellen Kelley, June, 2010
"I feel centered and can notice when I am not calm." Becca Rich, Mississippi/Massachusetts, September 2009
"I had no idea you could massage yourself. It makes me feel like I own my body." Donna Sewalk, Folsom, LA, September 2009
Do you feel that this class (Hands on Health The Maya Way) was beneficial to you as a client?
I think it was very beneficial because the information gave me enough background to understand the benefits of Arvigo massage. This gives me additional motivation to perform the massage regularly.
Do you feel that this knowledge is an added benefit to individual sessions? If so, how?
Yes, because discussion with other class members provided useful information, and the energy of the group provided an uplift.
Do you feel that this knowledge will help you to perform self care?
I think the knowledge gave me more precise information on how to do the self-massage correctly, plus motivation to do it regularly.
Would you recommend this to other clients?
I would recommend this class to anyone who wants to better understand the functioning of internal organs, and how massage can benefit this functioning. The traditional focus of massage is on muscle pain, such as back pain, knee pain, etc. In Tai Chi, they discuss the area called the "Don Tien" as the locus of energy flow in the body. I think Arvigo massage can help open the flow of Chi in the body, and go beyond the Western focus on providing relaxation and relieving pain. R.N., New Orleans, LA January, 2011
